Blueberry Avocado Almond Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado, halved and pitted
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup nonfat milk
  • 1/2 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt
  • 1/8 cup almonds, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp. flaxseed
  • 8 ice cubes
  • 2 Tbsp toasted almonds sliced or chopped

Directions

  1. Place flaxseed in blender, grind for 30 seconds, this will help eliminate the bitterness of the flaxseed.
  2. Pour ingredients into the blender in order listed, except for honey. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add honey and blend an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Split between two tall glasses and garnish each with 1 tbsp. toasted almonds. Drink immediately to receive full nutritional value.
