Cream Cheese Spinach Spread


  • 1 (8-ounce) box frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 (8-ounce) box cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1 package dried vegetable soup mix
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 small can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • crackers or sliced toasted baguettes for serving


  1. Defrost and drain spinach as thoroughly as possible.
  2. Drain sliced water chestnuts and dice.
  3. Place the spinach, room temperature cream cheese, onions, dried veggie soup mix, lemon juice, diced water chestnuts, and sour cream into the blender. Blend 30 second to 1 minute or until well blended.
  4. Scrap blended spread mixture into a bowl, cover and place in the fridge to chill for at least 1 hour but preferably overnight.
  5. Serve with crackers or sliced toasted baguettes.
