Habanero Hot Sauce


  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 Habanero peppers, seeded, minced
  • 3 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • salt to taste


  1. In a pan, saute the onion and garlic until soft. Add the carrots and water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until carrots are tender. Set aside to cool.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a blender, add the remaining ingredients and puree until smooth and thin. Serve at room temperature, with omelet, sandwiches, rice, pasta or meat dishes.
