Strawberry Banana Bread


  • 4 ripe bananas, chopped
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips, optionally
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven at 350˚F.
  2. In a blender, add the bananas, butter and vanilla extract and blend to obtain a thick paste. Add the sugar and mix again, until the composition looks smooth.
  3. Transfer to a large bowl, add the egg and stir manually until well combined. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt and mix again. Add the flour progressively, stirring continuously until well combined. Fold in the sliced strawberries and continue stirring until well incorporated.
  4. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Bake for 1 hour, then set aside and let cool at room temperature. Remove from the pan and slice to serve.
