Sweet Strawberry Sorbet


  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup orange juice


  1. Place a small saucepan over low heat and mix together the water and sugar. Stir over low heat for about 30 to 60 seconds or until the sugar dissolves completely. Bring to a boil. Let boil for 5 minutes, without stirring. Remove from heat and and set aside to cool.
  2. Rinse strawberries; cut off and discard caps.
  3. Place strawberries in a blender and purée until smooth.
  4. Pour puréed strawberries into a medium-sized mixing bowl and add in orange juice and now cooled sugary syrup. Stir together and pour into ice cream canister. Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer directions. Yield: approximately 1 quart. Serving size: 1/2 c.
