Chocolate Nut Fudge
Ingredients
- 1 cup condensed milk
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 85 g unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup chopped toasted nuts
Directions
- Spray a square baking pan with cooking spray. Add the chocolate into a blender and mix a few times to chop it finely.
- In a large saucepan, add the sugar and water. Heat at medium heat, bring to a boil and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Boil for 1 more minute, then add the milk. Stir frequently to avoid crystallization and cook the mixture for 10 minutes or until it looks thick and smooth.
- Remove from the heat, set aside to cool for 15 minutes. Avoid stirring during this interval as the mixture will form sugar crystals.
- Add the chocolate into the mixture and stir until chocolate melts. With a wooden spoon, beat the fudge until it becomes thick and loses its gloss. You can also transfer all the mixture into the blender, without cleaning it previously, and mix a few times until the paste becomes thick. Still, avoid overmixing.
- Once the fudge is thick and begins to set up, stir in the nuts and pour the fugde into the pan. Allow to set at room temperature for about 3 hours or overnight. Cut into squares and serve cooled.
