Homemade Apple Sauce


  • 4 apples, cored, peeled
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • sugar to taste, optionally


  1. Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan, cover and cook at medium heat, for 10 minutes, until apples are soft.
  2. Transfer the composition to a blender, mix for a few seconds at high speed. Obtained paste should be smooth and thick like commercial applesauce.
  3. For a smoother composition, mix a few more seconds in the blender. Remove from the blender, pour into a pot and refrigerate. Serve cooled.
