
Smokey BBQ Sauce Recipe

A succulent barbeque sauce can be used on most meat dishes to take them from average to chef quality flavor. This smokey BBQ sauce recipe uses chipotle pepper, whiskey and liquid smoke to give an added kick to the traditional barbeque sauce and will garner rave reviews from guests.
Ingredients
- 2 cups diced tomato
- 1 chipotle pepper in adobo
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 3 tbsp molasses
- 1 small onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground mustard
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp whiskey
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
Directions
- Cook finely chopped onions and garlic in butter for 2 minutes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and cook on medium-heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cover the pot and let it simmer for another 25 minutes.
- Pour into a blender and blend ingredients on high speed until smooth.
- The flavor of the sauce is perfect for ribs.
