Sweet and Sour Sauce


  • 1 6 oz can frozen pineapple juice concentrate
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 small green pepper
  • 1 slice canned Pimiento
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt


  1. Place all of the ingredients into the blender in the order listed. Blend until the slice of pimiento and green pepper are finely chopped.
  2. Pour blended ingredients into saucepan and place over medium heat, cook, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble. Once the sauce begins to bubble, cook for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
  3. Use as a sauce in Chinese dishes, use as a marinade for meat, etc. Store in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
