Vodka Sauce


  • 1 stick butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1/3 cup vodka
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream


  1. Place butter in a sauté pan over medium heat. Sauté diced onion for about 2 to 3 minutes or until onion becomes tender and translucent.
  2. Add vodka, cook 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add tomato sauce and cook for 3 minutes.
  4. Place heavy whipping cream in blender and blend until soft peaks form. Scrape into sauté pan and heat, but do not allow it to boil.
  5. Pour over pasta. Yield: 4 servings, or enough for 1 pound of pasta.
